Water2Hy

A novel and rational design of surface and interface oriented heterostructures for sustainable solar-driven photocatalytic hydrogen production

Linde Hellas participates in the project Water2Hy, which targets the development of efficient and cost effective hydrogen production through photocatalytic water splitting based on novel nanostructured and heterostructured materials. Important new concepts and approaches which are going well beyond the state-of-the-art will be applied cooperatively to achieving our goals and objectives. The final goal is the development of a small scale prototype set-up along with the execution of a feasibility study.  Two new concepts in terms of material’s design will be fully explored for the production of highly active photocatalysts towards water splitting: a) the development of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs)/black titania nanostructured composites and b) oxide semiconductor/metallic core-shell, heterostructures.
